On the morning of April 1st, Ambassador Yue Xiaoyong to Ireland and Governor of Hunan Province Xu Dazhe, who are visiting Ireland, jointly unveiled the “Big Data and Technology Innovation Center” of Hunan University of Commerce-Dublin University of Technology.

In his speech, Governor Xu Dazhe introduced the strategy of innovation-led opening-up and rising in Hunan. He is looking forward that the two universities would take the opportunity of building innovation centers together to achieve complementary advantages and win-win results.

In his speech, Ambassador Yue said that the just-concluded second session of the 13th National People's Congress stressed that China will deeply implement the innovation-driven development strategy and further expand international innovation cooperation. At present, human beings face many common challenges. Colleges and universities in various countries have the responsibility to cultivate the ability of the younger generation to jointly meet challenges and build a community of human destiny through international cooperation and multicultural construction. Ambassador Yue pointed out that in recent years, Sino-Ireland higher education cooperation has achieved fruitful results. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Ireland. It is hoped that the exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in this field will leap to a new level.
