On Jul. 18, on the way to Fenghuang County, the investigation team passed through the Rebala scenic resort. The team come across Mr. Tian Huamei, an inheritor of Maogusi culture, Tujia minority, who is teaching children to sing Maogusi sweeping song. After the teaching, the teachers and students had deep communication with Mr. Tian Huamei, and had a preliminary understanding of Maogusi culture. Maogusi integrates with many elements of Tujia minority, such as Daliuzi, waving dance, Dongdongkui, mountain song, Tima, crying marriage and cradlesong, and performs with Tujia dialects. Although the art forms are diverse and unique, few people are willing to learn and pass it on. In order to pass on this national culture, Mr. Tian wrote a book with five hundred thousand characters and publicized it.

On Jul. 20, the practice team came to Debang Village, Shanjiang Town, Fenghuang County, and visited Ma Maoting, a representative inheritor of national intangible cultural heritage - silver forging craft of the Miao Nationality. Master Ma has been engaged in silver jewelry forging work for more than 40 years, and the village where Master Ma lives have been engaged in the manual manufacturing of silver ornaments for the surrounding Miao people since Qing Dynasty. During the interview with Master Ma, we found that the manufacturing processes of the Miao silver are very complicated and the duration is long, and its market is lacking.

On Jul. 22, the investigation team came to Jinxiu Hall, Fenghuang County, and interviewed Ms. Xiang Xiuping, the inheritor of Miao Embroidery of western Hunan. In the process of visiting the Jinxiu Hall, we saw many works of Miao Embroidery, which are very delicate and meticulous, especially the huge Miao Embroidery - Ancient Song of the Miao Nationality. Subsequently, girls in the practice team experienced Miao Embroidery. The Miao Embroidery teacher told us that because the Miao Nationality has no characters, many things are reflected in the embroidered patterns. Therefore, the Miao Embroidery is not only an embroidery, but also a cultural record and inheritance.

What the above two items lack is markets. Both the Miao silver and Miao Embroidery are handmade articles, and should be tempered slowly. As they cannot keep up with the development of the market, they will gradually lose the market. Consequently, the national culture cannot be better inherited.

At the end of the investigation, in the window of phoenix in Liaojiaqiao Town, Fenghuang County, the team watched the panoramic experience drama about Chinese · Phoenix intangible cultural heritage - Wunuo Sacred Song. Wunuo Sacred Song mainly consists of three chapters, namely, Colorful World, History of Fairyland, and Joyful Miao Territory, telling people about the mysterious history of the mysterious west Hunan · Phoenix Miao Territory in the past thousands of years. Through the live stage, scene stage and cliff stage, the drama comprehensively displayed the culture of western Hunan. This is a commercial form. Through the narrative of the intangible cultural heritage, Wunuo myth, unique skills to drive corpses, intangible cultural heritage of western Hunan, folk customs and variety shows, a wonderful visual feast was presented to audiences. The inheritance of the intangible cultural heritages should combine with the market demands, and the market is constantly developing. Therefore, the inheritance of culture needs the cultural innovation.

Through the field investigation and interview, students are truly aware that the prosperity of socialist culture will not only help to inherit and protect the culture of minority areas, but promote the comprehensive development of Chinese culture, including the culture of minority areas, enhance the cultural soft power of China and increase the "sense of gain" of the masses. Students said that they would do a good job in the organization of data and report writing, and assist the cultural inheritance and innovation of the minority areas, such as Miao silver, Miao Embroidery and wax printing, with their own practical actions.
