School of Business Administration Held the International Students Cultural Exchange Activity

On Jul. 13, School of Business Administration held the international students cultural exchange activity. Prof. Sally Stephenson of Frostburg State University was invited to participate in the activity. Xu Shu, Vice Dean of School of Business Administration, presided over the activity. Pan Jian, Director of International Exchange Office, Tang Chang'an, Director of Development Planning Office, members of the education working group of international students of School of Business Administration, and international students of School of Economics and Trade also participated in this activity.

Prof. Sally Stephenson, an American Doctor of Education, conducted the keynote speech of "Hands Cross Culture". She introduced the connotation of the culture from multiple dimensions, systematically expounded the effective communication methods used in cultural collision, and taught students to better adapt to the cultures of different countries, understand and respect the cultural differences, and successfully conduct the cross-cultural communication. International students conducted a heated discussion on this topic, shared the culture shock they met, and expressed their confidence in the subsequent study and life.

Prof. Pan Jian shared her academic visit experience in Britain and the United States, and offered suggestions on how to integrate into the local culture. Prof. Tang Chang'an encouraged international students to know good teachers and helpful friends from different countries. At the end of the activity, Prof. Sally Stephenson played Hometown with an ocarina, a Chinese musical instrument, expressing her warm welcome and best wishes to international students.

This culture exchange activity is a salon activity held by the education working group of international students of School of Business Administration. It is reported that this working group, by closely combining with the professional learning of the international students and the cultivation of the international view, will regularly conduct the meaningful salon activity with different themes, and do a good job in the education and teaching work of the international students from the multiple dimensions.
