Summary and Seminar of the 2017 National Underground Electronic Design Contest

On the evening of September 15, 2017, our university held the summary and seminar of the 2017 National Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest in Room 401, Office Building II.

Professor Wu Xinkai first fully affirmed that it was extremely difficult for our university to be one of the only two financial colleges in our country that won national-level prizes of the contest this year according to the situation of this contest in the whole country and Hunan and combined with the actual situation of our university. Then the intense situation of the contest in this year was analyzed, compared with the performance of other provinces and other universities, and the typical practice of advanced schools was promoted. Finally, we found out the shortage of our universities, and pointed out the direction of the effort in the future. He hoped that our university would still need to further increase the input of the engineering capacity training for the engineering majors, optimize the teaching content, strengthen the construction of the laboratory, strengthen practical hands-on ability training, and focus on the construction of the long-term training mechanism. The guidance teachers should always condense the direction of guidance; students in the innovation base should cherish the rare opportunity of learning, make good use of the existing platform of the school, realize the self-management of the students, adopt the help mode of “veteran helping novice” and achieve the purpose of “promoting the training with competition, combining the training with competition, generating the force and double-creation, improving the skills and promoting the academic atmosphere of the school”.

Yang Shuigen pointed out that students must first consolidate the foundation, strengthen the double-base training; teachers should effectively carry out the reform of teaching methods, teaching forms and teaching contents, enlarge the exchange, communication and discussion among teachers, students and schools; the innovation base should establish scientific and effective selection mechanism, training mechanism and evaluation mechanism. He hoped that we would actively declare various teaching platforms at all levels. Finally, he put forward a lot of valuable suggestions on the base construction and the organization of the competition.

The vice-president Xiong Shuchu, on behalf of the School of Computer and Information Technology, thanked our university for its great attention and support for telecommunications, innovation bases and electronic competitions. He pointed out that students should remember their achievements, be full of confidence, and be full of passion for their profession; besides, students should develop their potential, know their shortage, fully recognize the gap between our university and other universities, take a careful summary and continue their efforts. He hopes that students should value their opportunities and drive the surrounding students to integrate into the double-creation study and practice, vigorously promote the construction of the academic atmosphere, attain more honor and improve our university’s influence in society.

Deputy secretary Li Jilin and director Liu Limei both made constructive speeches.

Peng Jiao, one of the winners of the national second prize and the host of Beidou Research Programme of our universitythe only programme approved by the provincial education department, made a typical statement as the representative of the participating and award-winning students. First and all, she shared her experience in innovation base for a year, as well as her deep experience of joining the provincial competition last year and the national competition this year; she said that the experiences gave her a lot of knowledge and skills that she did not learn in the books and classes, so she is well received by the society now. She hoped that the younger siblings in the base should always follow their hearts, calm down, hold on, consult others more, communicate with others more, actively study, consciously work hard, do well in the team’s cooperation and coordination as well as cherish this rare learning opportunity. She deeply felt helpless and difficult in the training and the competition from a student’s identity and perspective; she advised our university to further increase its input, adjust some working procedures flexibly and provide more convenience and security for the competition.
