On the afternoon of May 10th, HNUC’s Center for Higher Education Research held an academic salon on the theme of “path and mechanism to promote industry-education integration among local higher education institutions” in Meeting Room 208 of the new office building. Vice Principal Liu Guoquan attended the activity and delivered a speech on the reality and future of HNUC’s industry-education integration. In the speech, he also stressed the need to match undergraduate education with industry chains, acknowledged subordinate schools’ primary role in advancing industry-education integration, and suggested attempt to create new models of such integration according to the characteristics of different disciplines. This salon, undertaken by the Institute of Higher Education and presided over by Director Liu Derong, gathered nearly 30 participants, including some members of the research center and specially invited representatives.

Associate professor Li Jianfei from the School of Business Administration attended on invitation the salon and presented the school’s experience on industry-education integration. Professor Liu Tianxiang, the director of Teaching Evaluation Center, Associate professor Jiang Shuguang, the director of Center for Entrepreneurship Education & Practice Teaching and Professor Tang Jian from the School of Accounting also made speeches, and offered many constructive suggestions on HNUC’s industry-education integration. Professor Liu Derong, the director of the Institute of Higher Education, addressed on two aspects, i.e. weak links in HNUC’s industry-education integration and the mechanism on how to promote it. With the industry-education integration being a critical but arduous task facing HNUC during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, this academic salon served to provide an opportunity to pool our faculties’ wisdom in charting a reasonable course for HNUC’s industry-education integration.
