Integration Project in the National Natural Science Foundation's Major Research Program Chaired by Academician Chen Xiaohong Approved

Recently, the National Natural Science Foundation of China announced the assessment results to the 2018 funded projects in the major research plan of “Management and Decision-making Research Driven by Bid Data ”. The integration project of "Innovation model and Integration Demonstration Platform of Public Management Decision-making Driven by Big Data" presided over by academician Chen Xiaohong, President of the university, won the project grant.

The National Natural Science Foundation's major research project “Big Data Driven Management and Decision Research” takes big data-driven management and decision-making as the research object, giving full play to the advantages of multidisciplinary research such as management, information, mathematics, and medicine, focusing on big data. Driven management and decision theory paradigm, big data resource governance mechanism and management, big data management and decision value analysis and discovery, big data analysis methods and supporting technologies, and use the total integration sublimation platform to integrate relevant research results. Through the implementation of this major research plan, China will be among the forefront of the field of big data-driven management and decision-making research, and cultivate a group of interdisciplinary and cross-cutting talents and innovation teams. It also supports the country's major management decisions in related fields. The integration project initiated by Academician Chen Xiaohong is the highest-level and most funded project type in the major research project, with a grant amount of RMB 7 million yuan.

The “Big Data Driven Public Management Decision Innovation Model and Integrated Demonstration Platform” project focuses on the problems and challenges of China’s traditional public management decision-making model, based on multi-source mass public management data. Based on multi-source and massive public management data, and relying on advanced information technologies such as the Internet, Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence, blockchain, etc., to continuously improve the public management level and improve the strategic needs of the social governance pattern, refining major scientific issues in public management big data processing, analysis, management, and application, systematically researching relevant basic theories and key technologies; Integrate and optimize the relevant project results in the “Big Data Driven Management and Decision” major research plan, support the development of multi-scale refined list, and build a big data-driven public management intelligent decision-making platform; At the same time, the ecological environment big data resource pool construction and intelligent ecological environment management as a breakthrough to form a typical application demonstration. The research of this project will help overcome the shortcomings of traditional public management theory and methods, and provide new theoretical basis and technical support for public management mode innovation and decision-making mode change, also further promote the intelligent and scientific development level of China's public management platform.

      The project team brings together top research teams from universities such as Hunan University of Commerce, Central South University, Tsinghua University, Harbin Institute of Technology and Shenzhen University, the Environmental Planning Institute of the Ministry of Ecological Environment and the Chinese Academy of Sciences in the fields of big data analysis, public management and ecological environment management. The project team includes 2 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 4 National Outstanding Youth and Excellent Youth winners, 2 special professors of The Changjiang Scholars, 1 expert of the National Thousand Talents Program, 86 professors, researchers and associate professors. The research foundation is solid, the team is strong, and the cross-disciplinary advantages are outstanding.

The approved National Natural Science Foundation of China major research project integration project is another national-level project after the academician Chen Xiaohong and the research team were approved by the National Natural Science Foundation of China in January 2018.
