The Teachers’ Spirit Highlighted in Teaching Competition

In order to further improve the quality of classroom teaching and constantly enhance the classroom teaching level of teachers, on June 10th, the university held the final of teaching competition in 2017 at the F101 of the lecture hall in Yuezhi Building. The competition was organized by the dean’s office and the school union. Seven experts from both inside and outside of the university were hired to serve as judges of competition, with a total of 18 teachers from each teaching unit participating. Young teachers of the teaching units, academic directors and student representatives observed the competition.

The final was held with a centralized manner, each teacher teaching for 15 minutes. After careful preparation, conception and ingenious design, the teaching contents, teaching methods, technical means and personal images of the participating teachers have been incisively and vividly presented. In the course of 15 minutes, the teacher accurately grasped the teaching content and teaching rhythm, focusing on teaching innovation and teaching methods. The art of classroom teaching was multi-dimensionally interpreted. The teaching levels were shown highly, highlighting the teachers’ teaching styles.

After intense competition, teacher Liu Zhi of tourism management, Xiangjun of Foreign Language Institute and teacher Wang Yan of computer and information engineering won the first, second, third classroom teaching sessions respectively.

After the competition, the jury leader, Professor Liu Hong from Hunan Normal University, made a wonderful review of this competition. He pointed out that the cultivation of talents is the central work of colleges and universities. All the work should focus on education and teaching to serve personnel cultivation; as a teacher, one should love education. classroom teaching is the main channel to cultivate personnel. Teachers will be full of passion in the classroom; teachers should have “fan” and the content of one class must be fully prepared.
