Introduction of the Speaker: Zhang Kuan is a tenured professor of Department of Modern & Classical Chinese, George Mason University. He is also a senior consultant of Confucius Institute, George Mason University. Professor Zhang once worked as a teacher in Free University of Berlin, University of Arizona and Monterey College of International Studies, California. Doctor Zhang has special influence in post-colonial criticism, gender studies, feminism and multicultural studies. From 2013 to 2015, Doctor Zhang went back domestic to give lectures in Nanjing University, Shandong University, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou Normal University, Zhejiang University of Technology, Southwest Jiaotong University, Sichuan University, Central China Normal University, Wuhan University of Technology and Beijing Language University. And this project was supported by Ministry of Education. In 2008, Professor Zhang’s Chinese selected papers Besieged City--Shangri-La was a bestseller in Sanlian Bookstore.
